The White Out Foams were released today and you know I copped me a pair + seven more. >.<
The new outer composite material means longer lasting sneakers and a must have for foamposite lovers in the sneaker community. Its a busy weekend Sole Nation with all the new releases! Don't get left out and get in line! =]
Lost Origin is an independent clothing label based in the UK that
specializes in stylish and diverse graphic printed apparel. Their graphic art work is pretty sick and I love their creativity, mixing the idea of urban street wear with a traveler with no particular destination speaks to an array of people. Keep your eyes out for them while their on the come up because I think that they will do some great things. www.facebook.com/LostOriginClothing
Here's another fit report for the new releases this weekend, Barkley Posite Max Eggplant colorway. These joints are a definite pick up for both men and women. The area 72s were such a success that it makes you want to grab another in Eggplants. Enjoy!
I wanna address this new trend that I've been seeing all over Instagram that people may call #Sockotic, #Socksoftheday, or even #Sockswag. Everyone seems to be wearing a pair of crazy printed socks and posting them like everyday and I'm even starting to see them out in public. Now, is this some type of movement or is it just some fad that'll be gone tomorrow? I mean, even some designers are supporting it pretty tough. HUF even came out with their PLANTLIFE socks and everyone is sporting them or showing off their new shipments. Hmm, I wonder how long this will last. I guess Rob Kardashian may have been on to something. ;)
Just wanted to a give big ups to all the SEXY ass women out their that are confident enough to lace up a pair of sneakers and still rock it out. Have a badass week Sole Nation! Happy Monday.
Moving to San Diego I immediately noticed that the urban/ street wear scene here isn't that big. I found out that most people either have to drive up to L.A. to get their hands new pick ups or do some searching online. Obviously the positive side to that is that you'll have something different then the usual Saturday morning, House of Hoops releases, but accessibility is also important. Some of us don't want to wait for shipping to get our hands on our new purchases. Plus, having a local shop means that we have a business that's already a step ahead on our behalf so that San Diego can represent. Stores like BLENDS AND ATTIC in SD do just that but as a community we also need to support and represent for local small businesses so I wanted to give a shout out to KOLORBLIND shoe consignment. Kolorblind provides the newest exclusives and caters to their community by making sure their customers have the lastest ASAP and they make it point to create relationship and stay loyal to them. I've even heard they opened up on a closed day just so a customer to get their hands on the new releases. I believe that type of loyalty and dedication needs to be appreciated and noticed. So check them out at their shop, it's located in Hillcrest at 322 W Washington St. Keep it up Kolorblind and I hope you guys do big things here in Daygo. www.kolorblindshoes.com

In honor of FLASHBACK FRIDAYS, lets take a stroll down memory lane. All the way to 89' when copping a pair of Fire Red Jordan 4s was like saying you shook Michael Jordan's hand and it mean't you were the cool kid in school. Although, people don't like to admit that before they could actually afford the Retro's, they were actually rockin' the L.A. Gear. People go crazy over Jordan's today, stealing and shooting people over a pair. I guess it's all about that struggle. They been going through life rockin these L.A. Gear's for too long! It's all about the hype people! And boy do I feed into it! hahaha!! Just my little tid-bit of the day.
I've been following HELLZ BELLZ X BOTB, Lanie Barcena, for some years now so I think it's safe to say that I'm pretty excited for a come back. I always appreciate their witty ideas and paying respect to the greats. So their new beanies reading Junya Mafia is a must have with a word play on Biggies crew Junior Mafia and fashion designer Junya Watanabe. Is the old HELLZ BELLZ back?
The street wear culture in Hawaii shows out pretty tough and keeping up with the cleanest is no joke but KICKS HI and IN4MATION hooks it up like you just went on a L.A. shopping trip but even better, we stay in Hawaii. These guys always stay current and keep people updated. Two of the things I miss about home. If your in HI check them out. www.in4mants.comwww.kickshawaii.com
Finally welcoming myself to this blog life that I have no clue about but feel necessary to join, learn from and spread my love for this life to. So I guess I can start by introducing myself and what my mind is about.
The name is Diana but friends call me Derty or D. Born and raised in Hawaii, military brat. Currently a full time student at The Art Institute of California - San Diego working on a Bachelors in Fashion Design. I graduate in September so its all hitting me that I need to make things happen in this industry we call FASHION. I've struggled a lot trying to find myself and the road to my future and what I enjoy about fashion. I have learned every aspect of this industry whether it be design, sewing, pattern making (by hand or computerized), marketing, so on and so worth. I've come to the conclusion that designing and sewing is not for me. I'm just not about that life. But what I do love and enjoy has stuck for some years now and as much as we're mesmerized by glamour and fashion houses that envelop the industry, the streets is where its at and where its always started. I've been collecting shoes and following street wear brands since I was in middle school and I took a hiatus for a bit to get my grown woman on but it always comes back to you. So with that I hope you enjoy what I have to say/ share and if you don't then no sweat off my back. ALOHA!
